Since Mai 15th, the people of Spain started a great process of democratic change which all of Europe si now considering, here is their manifesto:

We have come here voluntarily and on our own free will.
After the May 15 demonstrations we have decided to remain united and grow in numbers in our fight for dignity. We do not represent any political party, and none of them represent us. We are united in our rage, our discomfort, and our precarious life, which is derived from inequality, but what above all keeps us together is our will to change. We are here because we want a new society that puts our lives above any political or economic interest.

the world is upside down and we're gonna turn it all around..

Movement of energy is either going outwards and expanding or inwards and condensing. This understanding is of utmost importance in order to comprehend how nature can so eloquently exist and evolve in all her glory without polluting herself to extinction. Man, who has used explosive energy movement almost exclusively, is producing distress and threatening all life on this fragile planet.

When we watch water go down the drain, it appears to be collapsing in on itself in a vortical motion. The natural form of a tornado or hurricane also draws inwards, sucking anything unfortunate enough to be in its path towards its centre. If explosive forces are characterized by expansion and radiant properties, then implosive forces, (simply the opposite) have characteristics such as contraction and absorption.

The following is extracted from The Energy Evolution, book four of the eco-technology series on Viktor Schauberger’s writings, translated and edited by Callum Coats pg 73.

Expansions are retarded explosive effects in the realm of basic substances, in which decentrating (expanding) reactive effects of a subordinate order are freed.

Explosion is chemical reaction that takes place extremely rapidly, in which a large increase in pressure occurs due to large quantities of hot gases. Explosions are always innately destructive. They therefore function in a life harming way.

The cause of an explosion is the sudden binding by highly charged oxygen, which at +40ºC (104ºF) becomes free and aggressive, of the sweet substance generally known as carbones, which become increasingly passive (inactive) with pressure and increase in heat.

With explosions vorticity (turbulence) always occurs, resulting in a reduction in the velocity of the through-flowing substance, leading in turn to cavitation, viz. the corrosion on ships propeller or pressure screws in turbines. In particular when snow meltwater or glacier water is centrifugated. In such cases radar-like retroactive re-actions take place, which as detonating events, have a shattering effect. The detonation velocity can be a thousand times greater than the normal combustion velocity, which explains, for example, why the resistance to motion increases by the square in all explosion and expansion machines, which also increases by the square of the velocity of an increase in heat. It therefore acts to impede motion

Impansions are slow processes of densation, which for example, can be exploited in so-called chillers or refrigerating machines and are to be viewed as normal de-stressing processes.

Implosion is a biochemical reaction and takes place equally rapidly, during which a strong increase in low pressure occurs, whose active force increases by the square of the rate of the decline in heat.

The cause of an implosion is the sudden binding (emulsion) of oxygen, which becomes passive (inactive) with a decrease in heat and in this state is consumed by the sweet substances, which attain their charged state at +4ºC (39.2 ºF). The mechanical atomization of the oxygen is necessary, however.

With implosions a molecular ordering takes place in a radial and axial direction and therefore a suctional effect takes place in the axis, where the most vigorous decrease in heat and pressure occurs. This attracts, indraws, concentrates and binds (emulsifies) the oxygen, which gives rise to diamagnetism. This is precisely the opposite of the atomic pressural force, generally known as electricity. With implosion, detonationless retro-suctional effects occur in the core zone, which promote a higher grade emulsive process, namely the binding of the oxygen, which becomes increasingly passive the closer it is to the centre of flow. This results in the collapse of the peripheral masses, the release of the through-flowing substances from the walls, and thereby to an almost frictionless increase in the velocity of the self-inwinding through-flowing material, which accelerates by the square of the velocity of a falling heat gradient.

There are more than half a million people living under these conditions in the French Territory, lots of young people can't afford real housing and are forced to live in converted trucks, shelters, cardboard boxes. This law if it it voted will remove any of their previous rights to privacy and a home. They will be fined, forcibly removed and their "homes " and possesions taken. This is just like in the last Tony Gatlif movie called 'Liberté' where the gypsies are deported and killed by the French police and the Nazis.

This idea of “me” and “mine” – ahamkara and mamata – is the result of past superstition, and the more this present self passes away, the more the real Self becomes manifest. This is true self-abnegation, the center, the basis, the gist of all moral teaching, and whether man knows it or not, the whole world is slowly going towards it, practicing it more or less. Only, the vast majority of mankind are doing it unconsciously. Let them do it consciously. Let them make the sacrifice, knowing that this “me” and “mine” is not the real Self, but only a limitation. But one glimpse of that infinite reality which is behind, but one spark of that infinite fire that is the All, represents the present man. The infinite is his true nature.

What is the utility, the effect, the result of this knowledge? In these days we have to measure everything by utility – by how many pounds, shillings, and pence it represents. What right has a person to ask that truth should be judged by the standard of utility or money? Suppose there is no utility, will it be less true? Utility is not the test of truth. Nevertheless, there is the highest utility in this. Happiness, we see, is what everyone is seeking for; but the majority seeks it in things which are evanescent and not real. No happiness was ever found in the senses. There never was a person who found happiness in the senses or in enjoyment of the senses. Happiness is only found in the spirit. Therefore the highest utility for mankind is to find this happiness in the spirit.

The next point is that ignorance is the great mother of all misery, and the fundamental ignorance is to think that the infinite weeps and cries, that it is finite. This is the basis of all ignorance – that we, the immortal, the ever pure, the perfect spirit, think we are little minds, we are little bodies. It is the mother of all selfishness. As soon as I think I am a little body, I want to preserve it, to protect it, to keep it nice, at the expense of other bodies. Then you and I become separate. As soon as this idea of separation comes, it opens the door to all mischief and leads to all misery. This, then, is the utility of this knowledge – that if a small fractional part of human beings living today can put aside the idea of selfishness, narrowness, and littleness, this earth will become a paradise tomorrow. But with machines and improvements of material knowledge only, it will never be so. These only increase misery, as oil poured on fire increases the flame all the more. Without the knowledge of the spirit, all material knowledge is only adding fuel to fire, only giving into the hands of selfish man one more instrument to take what belongs to others, to live upon the life of others instead of giving up his life for them.

Is it practical? – is another question. Can it be practiced in modern society? Truth does not pay homage to any society, ancient or modern. Society has to pay homage to truth or die. Societies should be molded upon truth; truth has not to adjust itself to society. If such a noble truth as unselfishness cannot be practiced in society, it is better for man to give up society and go into the forest. That is the daring man.

There are two sorts of courage. One is the courage of facing the cannon; and the other is the courage of spiritual conviction. An emperor who invaded India was told by his teacher to go and see some of the sages there. After a long search for one, he found a very old man sitting on a block of stone. The emperor talked with him a little and became very much impressed by his wisdom. He asked the sage to go to his country with him. “No,” said the sage, “I am quite satisfied with my forest here.” Said the emperor: “I will give you money, position, wealth. I am the emperor of the world.” “No,” replied the man, “I don’t care for those things.” The emperor replied, “If you do not go, I will kill you.” The man smiled serenely and said: “That is the most foolish thing you ever said, Emperor. You cannot kill me. Me the sun cannot dry, fire cannot burn, sword cannot kill; for I am the birthless, the deathless, the ever living omnipotent, omnipresent spirit.” This is spiritual boldness, while the other is the courage of a lion or a tiger.

During the Mutiny of 1857, there was a swami, a very great soul, whom a Mohammedan mutineer stabbed severely. The Hindu mutineers caught and brought the man to the swami, offering to kill him. But the swami looked up calmly and said, “My brother, thou art He, thou art He!” and expired. This is another instance.

What good is it to talk of the strength of your muscles, of the superiority of your Western institutions, if you cannot make truth square with your society, if you cannot build up a society into which the highest truth will fit? What is the good of this boastful talk about your grandeur and greatness if you stand up and say, “This courage is not practical”? Is nothing practical but pounds, shillings, and pence? If so, why boast of your society? That society is the greatest where the highest truths become practical. That is my opinion. And if society is not fit for the highest truths, make it so – and the sooner, the better.

Stand up, men and women, in this spirit, dare to believe in the truth, dare to practice the truth! The world requires a few hundred bold men and women. Practice that boldness which dares know the truth, which dares show the truth in life, which does not quake before death, nay, welcomes death, makes a man know that he is the spirit, that in the whole universe nothing can kill him. Then you will be free. Then you will know your real soul.

“This Atman is first to be heard of, then thought about, and then meditated upon.” There is a great tendency in modern times to talk too much of work and decry thought. Doing is very good, but that comes from thinking. Little manifestations of energy through the muscles are called work. But where there is no thought, there will be no work. Fill the brain, therefore, with high thoughts, with the highest ideals; place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work. Talk not about impurity, but say that we are pure. We have hypnotized ourselves into this thought that we are little, that we are born and that we are going to die, and into a constant state of fear.

There is a story about a lioness who was big with young. Going about in search of prey, and seeing a flock of sheep, she jumped upon them. She died in the effort and a little baby lion was born, motherless. It was taken care of by the sheep and they brought it up. It grew up with them, ate grass, and bleated like the sheep. And although in time it became a full-grown lion, it thought it was a sheep. One day another lion came in search of prey and was astonished to find that in the midst of this flock of sheep was a lion, fleeing like the sheep at the approach of danger. He tried to get near the sheep-lion to tell it that it was not a sheep but a lion, but the poor animal fled at his approach. However, he watched his opportunity and one day found the sheep-lion sleeping. He approached it and said, “You are a lion.” “I am a sheep,” cried the other lion; it could not believe the contrary, but bleated. The lion dragged it towards a lake and said, “Look here: there is my reflection and there is yours.” Then came the comparison. The sheep-lion looked at the lion and then at its own reflection, and in a moment came the idea that it was a lion. The lion roared; the bleating was gone.

You are lions; you are the soul, pure, infinite, and perfect. The might of the universe is within you. “Why weepest thou, my friend? There is neither birth nor death for thee. Why weepest thou? There is no disease or misery for thee. Thou art like the infinite sky: clouds of various colors come over it, play for a moment, then vanish; but the sky is ever the same eternal blue.”

Why do we see wickedness? There was a stump of a tree, and in the dark a thief came that way and said, “That is a policeman.” A young man waiting for his beloved saw it and thought that it was his sweetheart. A child who had been told ghost stories took it for a ghost and began to shriek. But all the time it was the stump of a tree. We see the world as we are. Suppose there is a baby in a room with a bag of gold on the table, and a thief comes and steals the gold. Would the baby know it was stolen? That which we have inside, we see outside. The baby has no thief inside and sees no thief outside. So with all knowledge.

Do not talk of the wickedness of the world and all its sins. Weep that you are bound to see wickedness yet. Weep that you are bound to see sin everywhere. If you want to help the world, do not condemn it. Do not weaken it more. For what is sin and what is misery – what are all these but the results of weakness? The world is made weaker and weaker every day by such teachings. Men are taught from childhood that they are weak and sinners. Teach them that they are all glorious children of immortality, even those who are the weakest in manifestation. Let positive, strong, helpful thoughts enter into their brains from very childhood. Lay yourselves open to these thoughts, and not to weakening and paralyzing ones. Say to your own minds, “I am He, I am He.” Let it ring day and night in your minds like a song, and at the point of death declare “I am He.” That is the truth. The infinite strength of the world is yours. Drive out the superstition that has covered your minds. Let us be brave. Know the truth and practice the truth. The goal may be distant, but awake, arise, and stop not till the goal is reached

Barcelona still has places where the music lives such as the metro and the beautiful parks, the streets are a bit unsafe for playing as instruments get confiscated by the police.. so when the world meets on the street it's time for magic music, here is Mr Ozgür Karagunes from Istambul jamming on the Santoor with Morrocan, Georgian, French and Spanish friends.

This team later played two concerts together in the Carboneria Art Squat and on the Plaça del Rei for the festival of Cultures as well as many more jams in random places.

Crackdown On Minorities

Sufis in Isfahan and elsewhere in Iran see the raid as just one part of a campaign by conservatives against the Gonabadi dervishes. The crackdown has included arrests, court summons, and accusations in the media that Sufism is a deviation from true Islam.

A Sufi house of worship was demolished in the city of Qom in 2006; another was partially destroyed in Borujerd in 2007; and a Sufi prayer house in Kish was forced to close late in 2008.

It is clear that there is growing state intolerance toward religious minorities in Iran. Some Sufis have faced arrest, been sentenced to lashings, or been forced to pledge not to attend Sufi ceremonies.

These demolitions demonstrate the oppression and crimes that are being committed against the religious minorities in Iran -- when they treat dervishes that are Shi'ite Muslims in this manner. It's not clear what [authorities] do to the other [Iranian citizens] who are the followers of other religions.

Sufis observe Islamic beliefs, but they also believe in pursuit of the truth through mysticism. Some conservative clerics consider Sufism a danger to Islam.
Rights groups say respect for religious freedom has deteriorated in Iran since hard-line President Mahmud Ahmadinejad took power some four years ago.

I need your help!/////////

At the moment I'm working at a program of movies with the theme of protest movement and riots around the world.
Now Russia is entering the stage of the beginning of open protest movement against the current situation in the country. A lot of discussions and local protest actions started to take place at the moment in Russia. First real activists appeared (f.e. - group of guerrilla activists http://ovoscham.net/, art-group "the war" and others).
So there's a big need to educate people about other countries experience in all kinds of protest movements and actions.
I'm going to gather a program of movies and documentaries with the topic of "ways of activism and actions: through the time" and to show it during the upcoming 5th Moscow International Book Festival (11-14th of June 2010) - a big event, which takes place in Moscow (last year it counted around 10000 visitors during 4 days of work) .

I would much appreciate if you could advise me some movies, documentaries and even fiction films (based on real stories, like, f.e. "The Dreamers" by Bertolucci - I will probably include this one into the program too) or (which is even better) - could share with us some of your own archive at this topic.

As a composer, I've been interested in making music alongside nature, this since a young age, growing up surrounded by friends from a remote tribe in Centrafrique, I always noticed how their ancestral music seems to fit and resonate with the surrounding nature, plants and animals, especially the birds of the Central African forests. It seems they are integrated in the compositions as an instrument.
So imagine my fascination when yesterday, I came across a prodigy that makes plants sing.
This woman is called Mileece and has a very interesting and unique approach to musical composition with nature. Hear some of her work here:

The New Afrika Shrine was built and operated by Femi and Yeni Anikulapo Kuti, the eldest son and daughter of cultural icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, who built the original Shrine in the seventies, which endured until shortly after his death in 1997 when it, too, was forcibly closed by the Nigerian authorities.

Both the old and new Shrines were much more than just music venues. They were a refuge for the homeless and dispossessed, acted as a focal point for dissent and were consequently a thorn in the flesh of the ruling elite. Fela used the stage to launch eloquently savage diatribes against the corruption and mismanagement that was rife in Nigeria, one of the world’s leading oil producing countries, and was a hero to millions for the biting, non-compromising social commentary contained within his lyrics. In the seventies and eighties people flocked to the Shrine to hear Fela’s latest harangue of the country’s leaders and marvel at the powerful music and spectacle produced by his singers, dancers and musicians. Millions, not just in Nigeria but across the African continent, bought his albums and his tours in Europe and America attracted huge audiences.

Fela paid the price for his brutally frank and widely publicized condemnations of the government and his fierce defense of human rights by being constantly harassed, arrested (more than 200 times) and often savagely beaten, none of which ever diminished the continuing force of his attacks.

Following his death and the forced closure of his beloved Shrine, Femi and Yeni resolved to re-build an even bigger venue on a nearby site and used their share of income from the global sale of Fela’s albums with which to do so. They were determined to maintain their Father’s legacy and considered the heritage of shelter, support and advocacy as being the most valuable contributions they could make towards the development and creation of a united and democratic African republic.

But really, there are places where the ancestral cultures still survive and where the people live decent lives even with a very low GDP, an example of this is the Republic of Central Africa (see list of poorest countries), although people living there might be classed as some of the poorest on earth, being hunter gatherers and rural dwellers, they live in a sustainable way, don't have much of a government or justice system (apart from special tribal gatherings) and don't consume and pollute like we do, they know that man is not that different from an animal, it is tied to its environment and its decline means death, something we should learn before we judge a nation on the statistics and G.D.P, what matters is happiness, culture and sustainability not dollars.

Apart from those who watch Strip Mall, Americans are complaining that they aren't getting a proper unbiased coverage of the situation in Gaza (basically no TV coverage whatsoever..), well no kidding, most of them must feel like they have been living in a bubble for a few years now that they have access to the internet (see: If Americans knew).. I hope some of them are slowly starting to emerge from this parallel world just like their new president who just announced drastic environmental policies to reduce carbon emissions, nice one, how long did that take?
So, anyway, if you live on the moon or in England or Nebraska and haven't received proper information because your media has been bought by the mossad, here are some websites that will try and tell you about the situation as it is lived by the Palestinians:
Human Rights in Gaza
Tale of Sameh Habeeb, an indie Palestinian journalist
A Mancuninan/Palestinian account of the war
B'Tselem, a Jewish organisation run by Israelis is involved in handing out camcorders to 150 Palestinians in the West Bank and encouraging them to chronicle the abuse they suffer, either at the hands of Israeli soldiers or Jewish settlers living in the occupied territories. This had led to footage coming directly from the victims to hit the internet and create massive outrage. See some of the footage here or here.
On the other hand, the BBC is refusing to show a charitable appeal for humanitarian aid in Gaza -- their suffering is too "politically contentious" apparently..

Well, Europe is being driven by the U.S into a state of crisis and at the same time turned into a giant police state to protect the rich elites from the workers. That wasn't the idea behind the construction of Europe (Never again were the words said at the time, just after WWII).
So it's good in those days to see some action against this European-wide rise of fascism and stupidity. Like Bob Dylan said and sang in the 60's, the times they are changing. For the better we all hope, after all the Greeks gave us the word Democracy, which means the rule of the People, not the rule of some fools put there by giant companies and rich families.

Iceland heating up..

Well, this time it is not only global warming or environmental issues (such as Aluminium companies destroying the country cf:ALCOA) that is heating up Iceland. The economic downturn has made the Icelandic currency lose over half of its value since October. So jobs have gone, all imports have become really expensive (and this country imports pretty much everything). What it is good to see in a time of crisis is a popular uprising against capitalism so near to us and how such a socially tightly knitted country can mobilise itself. Through this united struggle the population has re-discovered its ability to take matters into its own hands and face the culprits they see as responsible for their extreme economical infortune; namely the banks (which had heavily invested in the U.S economy) and the government, which has been greatly discredited by its lack of foresight.
So, great job Iceland, keep this up we'd like to see one of our european neighbours become less centrally directed and rethink its local relationship with capitalism and consumerism. Let's hope that their governemnt doesn't accuse protesters of terrorism, A charge more and more western governments decide use to deal with any form of violent protest. Evo Morales kicks the U.S out!

A special mention today for Señor Evo Morales, most ingenious daring humble forward thinking equalitarian and generous leader of south America who told the U.S Drug Agency (DEA) to leave the country after this agency supported an attempted military coup in which 19 people died. By itself the crisis does not spell the end of global capitalism because governments will seek to resolve the crisis at the expense of working people and the most vulnerable sections of society, and, eventually by going to war, as happened in the 1930s. But events will now demonstrate to millions of people the highly toxic and destructive nature of the system and that it cannot guarantee the most essential rights. The alternative to going beyond the capitalist form of globalisation to a socially-owned, non-capitalist form will be a catastrophic drop in living standards for the majority of people.

In our view, the resources that are now being squandered on rescuing the banks should be used instead in a democratically-controlled way to create a not-for-profit, cooperatively-owned banking system and economy. In this way we view the crisis as an opportunity for human beings to go forward to more advanced social system. If it is not replaced, disasters of the kind that resulted from the Wall Street crash of 1929, compounded by the ecological crisis, are inevitable.

$Hell wins suspect Iraqi oil no-bid contract!

The U.S. government secretly facilitated dealings between Shell and the Iraqi Oil Ministry for no-bid contracts.
The contract signed between the South Gas Company and Shell for the processing and marketing of natural gas produced in the governorate of Basra in southern Iraq has raised many questions and different view points.
Oil giant Shell has recently won the Big Oil race to become the first major oil company to gain access to Iraq’s energy sector since the 1970s. With no competitive bidding process, the Dutch-British multinational has ‘won’ a $4bn contract to process and market natural gas with the South Gas Company in Basra.

The deal has been conducted in secret, leaving important information about the terms and authorship unknown. This secrecy has meant the contract was not subject to any public scrutiny or debate. Platform co-director Greg Muttitt surmised that “a country under occupation has introduced an oil policy that is favourable to western oil companies. The [US] State Department has already admitted that it has advisers working on oil policy and there is a likelihood they may have drafted the Shell contract.”

However, attempts to gain control over Iraq’s oil fields have not gone so well. As Corporate Watch reported last year (www.corporatewatch.org/?lid=2912), an oil law permitting de-facto oil privatisation was drafted under pressure from Big Oil, the US and UK governments, their consultants, and the IMF. It was presented to the Iraqi parliament in May 2007 and was expected to pass quickly. However, Iraqi and international opposition to transferring oil sovereignty to multinational oil companies has helped create a climate in which the Iraqi parliament has been able to resist the extreme pressure by US and UK governments and the has not been passed to date. So the big oil companies and governments are busy finding other avenues to the eventual prize of control over Iraq’s vast oil fields.

At the beginning of October, thousands of Colombia's indigenous people began a popular uprising around the country to protest about the cultural and physical genocide they are suffering at the hands of the state and to defend their territory, autonomy and culture.
Police forces have repressed many of the protests with bullets, tear gas and even sometimes nailbombs. So far three people have been killed, including a child, and more than one hundred have been injured.

As seen on my tekblog, you can block all web adverts and even replace them with Artwork!

On a PC running Firefox, simply download add-Art, it will replace all those adverts on myspace and everywhere else with pretty pictures and un-obtrusive images (just to annoy rupert murdoch).

If you use a mac running OS X, you can download a program that blocks all the adverts, pretty useful on big brother controlled sites such as myspace.com..

Well there is something hidden behind these (stolen) diamonds they show you, and the way to get them you thought was plain to see, the way is not guns and crime but could be words and rhyme, it's surely the reappropriation of your minds and of your diamond mines, it's the memory of a not so distant African past and the real roots that would allow the ghetto youth to stand firmer and grow..
Women and queens, descendants of Sheba and Cleopatra, don't look at sex and the city, Tyra Banks or Oprah Winfrey to find role models, keep your generous curves under cover and may your sweet lips serve to tell the stories of your ancestors to your children or to denounce the pillage of your village.
